Here is a little bit of background about myself. I was in pretty good shape until I hit about 21. When I got out of high school, I weighed 148 pounds, I had only 2 percent body fat, and I was benching around 300 pounds.
Now here I am 30 years old 220 pounds, and more sluggish than I used to be. I have been pretty inconsistent with my running in the past. I have ran several 10 k's, and 2 half marathons, but I just can't shake the weight. Here I am setting my goals on a brand new blog that I am dedicating to running and health.
My goal is to lose 50 pounds in 6 months starting today, jan 20, 2008. On july 20th, I plan on weighing 170 pounds. I will track my progress on this blog. I will go on a high protein diet. My breakfast and lunch will consist of tuna and vitamins. My dinner won't be specified, but will usually consist of whole grains, protein, and some sort of veggie. I am going to allow an occasional cheat, I think that is is more about a lifestyle change than a diet.
I will have to experiment with my exercising a little, before I come up with a definite plan. I do know that running will be a major part. I need to get used to running only 2 or 3 miles at a time, instead of 5 or 6, in order to try to keep from burning myself out. I am committing to this blog, I will use it as a log on what I eat, and what I have done.
